Priorities

Community-Focused Growth: Orange County is growing, and we must grow smart. I'll support innovative development that strengthens property values, respects our rural character, and promotes local businesses, not just the interests of large developers.

Public Safety with Accountability: As a retired Police Sergeant, I know firsthand that safety and security are essential for a thriving community. I will stand with the Orange County Sheriff's Office and support programs that help prevent crime, respond to mental health needs, and uphold law and order responsibly and effectively.

Infrastructure That Works: From expanded broadband access to a safe public water system to emergency response systems, our infrastructure must meet today's demands while preparing for tomorrow. I'll champion practical investments in Fire/EMS, hold the Rapidan Service Authority accountable, and focus on emergency preparedness without wasting taxpayer dollars on flashy, ineffective projects.

Fiscal Responsibility: You deserve to know where your money is going. I will hold county agencies accountable, push for complete transparency, and ensure your tax dollars are spent on what matters, not bloated budgets or bureaucratic waste.

Listening to you: This isn't about politics— it's about people. I will be present, accessible, and honest. Whether we agree or not, your voice matters, and I will work to represent you with integrity, professionalism, and respect.

Get to Know Me

Robert Rabe has proudly called Orange County home for the past twelve years. A devoted husband and father of six, Robert is deeply involved in the local community. Four of his children attend Orange County schools, ranging from elementary to Orange High School. Robert lives in District 4 and owns Rita’s Italian Ice & Custard, a small business in the Locust Grove Town Center. Before settling in Orange County, Robert owned a small farmette in the scenic Shenandoah Valley.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, graduating summa cum laude from Liberty University. He also earned an Associate in Criminal Justice with honors from Liberty University. He began his academic journey with a Certificate in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Baltimore County. His educational background reflects a lifelong commitment to public safety and service.

Before returning to Virginia, Robert served the citizens of Maryland as a Police Sergeant with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police for ten years. For the past fourteen years, he has continued his public service in Virginia, holding several leadership positions within the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). He currently serves as the State Traffic Operations Manager.

In addition to his professional roles, Robert has served on the Somerset Farms HOA board, further demonstrating his dedication to community leadership. His experiences in law enforcement, transportation, and civic involvement have shaped his belief in authentic leadership—being present, listening to people, and delivering meaningful results.

Robert is running for the District 4 seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors because he believes in responsible governance, fiscal accountability, public safety, and protecting the quality of life for every resident.
